One Step Closer Therapeutic Riding (OSC) provides equine assisted
therapy for children and adults with special needs and U.S. Military
Veterans. OSC helps participants achieve their physical, emotional,
social, and cognitive development goals to be productive and
independent in their lives outside the arena. The Adaptive Riding
Program serves people with diagnoses such as autism, developmental
delays, cerebral palsy, Down Syndrome, ADD/ADHD, paraplegia,
traumatic brain injury, and more. The Veterans Program is designed
to help with the healing of physical and emotional wounds of war.
These men and women suffer from Post Traumatic Stress Disorder
and as a result struggle with sobriety, unemployment, loneliness,
and homelessness. OSC serves more than 300 Veterans per year in
partnership with Veterans Affairs.
